The charity we are supporting is Yellow is for Hello.  This organization, founded by Danny Brown, Rob Clarke, and Sam Fiorella, aims to remove the stigma surrounding mental illnesses by planting “friendship benches”, yellow benches that provide a space for people to communicate their problems and struggles to one another.  Helping spread awareness after Sam’s son Lucas took his own life, the group has implemented more than 25 benches around Canada.

We are choosing to support Yellow is for Hello because of personal connections, as well as the possibility of a better future for not only students at Burlington Central High School, but in other Canadian schools as well.  By supporting Yellow is for Hello, we’re spreading awareness and potentially saving lives.
